The one side effect of changing the colors is that once text is assigned a color in a document using a "default" color scheme, it seems that it remembers the location of the color in the default color palette, not the actual color.

The end result is that when you cut and paste text from a default color palette document in to the customized palette document, the text is pasted with the customized color from that same location in the palette. In this case, I replaced the second blue column column 5 with a series of light colors that I use frequently on dark backgrounds. Now when I cut and paste text from an existing document, it changes color.

I have a customization that came with unexpected results. The 10 "Standard Colors" that come up when changing the font color I know this can be done, as I have changed them in the Normal template when I installed Office ; however it seems I have lost the instructions.

If you select Silver, it will be as in second shot below. You can also select alternative default color schemes for MS Office To customize the Office color scheme, click on the Microsoft Button and select the Popular option.

Then you can click on the Color Scheme drop-down list to choose an alternative color for MS Office applications. All the applications within the suite will include the new default colors.

A greater number of alternative color schemes would be a good addition to future versions of the Office suite.
