Setting your Windows PC to dpi If you squint at your screen a lot, wishing the fonts were bigger, don't despair. This article is all the more relevant with modern high-resolution screens.

When XP came out x was fairly common and x was high-end. Now we're reaching for double that, and unless you deliberately choose a lower resolution, which looks horrible, you're going to be squinting at tiny little fonts And changing the default fonts on the Windows desktop doesn't always help, since many applications ignore those settings.

In Win XP, if you right clicked the desktop, you could go into display settings or appearance I forget which and choose to change the size of fonts globally, either Normal, Large Fonts, or Extra Large fonts.

You could also change DPI settings. In Win 7, it appears the only global way to change font sizes is through DPI settings, and for me, that is not enough. I had found the right combination of a higher DPI coupled with using "large fonts", that worked in most programs extremely well.

My question: Does or does not Win7 have the old normal, large, and extra large choice of fonts hidden somewhere like that shown below and again, I am NOT talking about the DPI settings for larger fonts? Thanks, Edgar. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
